In the year 2098, the United Moon Institute of Astronomy has spotted waves of Asteroids coming towards our star system.

The asteroids are not alone. They are sheltering aliens bent on the total destruction of the Earth! (Or at least that's what we'll assume...shoot first and then ask questions, I always say).

We've had a few encounters with the aliens, and we've learned a few things:
• we can actually shoot their bullets, it's just quite difficult.
• they are slippery, moving and dodging in crazy ways.
• their ships are sometimes suicidal, indicating that these ships are remotely controlled.
• They are afraid of the Asteroids. Only the boldest aliens will attack through the thick of an asteroid storm. However, if you clear out most of the asteroids from a given sector, you're advised to finish the job and clear out quickly, as once an alien realises you're in the clear, they'll call for backup. It's your funeral. Just remember, the UMIA won't pay for your funeral.
• they avoid the asteroids as if they weren't there. Their bullets are only effective against our ships, somehow.

That's it. That's all we know. As little as it is, we're running short of pilots. You've got to step in and save the Earth! If you can't, we just might be done for.

Remember putting coins in the machines for your chance to save the universe when you were a kid? Be transported back to that time again, but without the coins.

How high a score can you get?

Roids takes advantage of the high resolution screens offered on Handera and Sony devices. Why have all that screen real estate if you're not going to use it? This is what those PDAs were created for.

NOTE: Roids requires that you're using at least Palm OS 3.5 or later. It simply won't work on devices running previous operating systems. Please don't register it if you fall into this category.
